Does your face break out for no reason?  Dry out?  Here is Paula's latest cosmetic ingredients do's and don'ts. If there is one cosmetics industry buzzword that gets almost immediate consumer attention, it's "natural." Whatever preconceived or media-induced fiction someone might believe about natural ingredients being better for the skin has no factual basis or scientific legitimacy. Not only is the definition of "natural" hazy, but the term isn't even regulated, ...

My 10 year old is playing Guild Wars and we are enjoying it.  (Uh, did I say we?  Heh.)  Anyway, I like to watch him play. His birthday is coming up in November.  I can't decide if I should get him Guild Wars Factions for his birthday or Guild Wars Night Fall.  He seems to think Night Fall will have a lot of lag.  I don't understand why he believes this and can't question him too closely without giving away his b-day gift. So if anyone plays either of these......

In Niagara Falls there is a street called "fun strip."  It has everything you could want to see and some things you don't heh.  Wax museums, Ripley's Believe It or Not, Ferris Wheel, Hard Rock Café, you name it.  Totally commercial and really has little to do with the falls.  Heh. But it wasn't a total tourist trap...I got to meet Tiger Woods and my Aunt chatted with the Pope.  Pics below. Here are some photos of our day on fun strip. ...

I have a killer headache today.   I just finished the book “Magic Time” by Marc Scott Zicree and Barbara Hambley.   It was published around 2001 and is the first of the trilogy.   The beginning was so disjointed and slow I almost stopped reading it, but it finally picked up after the first several chapters.   Basically, the US government worked a project called the “Source.”   The source gets free and sucks up all the power including electricit...

We spent half a day perusing the Botanical Garden.  There is also a Butterfly conservatory there, but we skipped that this trip. Here are some general photos of the gardens and the school there.

We paid $10 each and went up into the Skylon tower observation level.  It is 525 ft high and has a restaurant on top with the observation deck above that.  At night the top of the tower spins so the diners can get alternate views of the falls (they are lit with diff colored lights at night, no pics, they didn't turn out) and view the city lights.  There is a $36 minimum per person for supper but lunch is cheaper.  If you're a tourist you can get away with casual dress but mos...

Once we unpacked we headed out to see the sights. Across the street is a brand new casino.  It's not just a casino, nope.  There is shopping, eating, and even a fudge shop!  (Which we visited everyday we were there, heh.)   There is a glass enclosed walkway from the Hilton to the casino as well. Me in front of the Casino. View of casino from Hilton. Front of casino Skywalk connecting the Hilton to the casino. Inside t...

This will have to be in a many parts since I have lots of pics. It took us seven hours to get from Ohio to Niagara Falls Canada .   We stopped and ate a late lunch at the very last Cracker Barrel on I90 before hitting the border.   No problem with the Canadian border authority.   The guy didn’t even check our ids!   Just asked “Where ya from?   Where ya going?”   So that was easy.   We arrived at the Niagara Hilton in the ea...

When I was in the Air Force my buddies and I would occasionally take a road trip.  Sometimes we'd go to a tourist location, sometimes just a hotel some distance away for some serious partying.  All in all though when we yelled, "Road Trip" it meant, good times to be had and lets roll!  So in that vein I have to say...   ROAD TRIP!!!!!!   My husband is back from Asia and has about 10 days before he leaves again…soooooo   I am off to Niagara Falls ...

Chapter 27   “Show yourself,” Cade said softly.   The black mare in the stall next to Sarsus shimmered and shifted into Rainn’s familiar red headed form.   “Your Wardex sense is strong,” Rainn opened the stall and stepped out, careful to keep her feet from the soft piles of manure.   “It is unfortunate your friend does not share such power.”   “Dirk was no less aware of your presence than me,&rdqu...

Cade stopped to stroke the black’s velvet nose.   “Your home is invaded Mammoth.”   Dirk’s black brows rose.   “Mammoth?   That huge monster is Mammoth?”   Cade nodded and ran his hands down the stallion’s neck.   Dirk laughed.   “I remember when you picked the horse Cade.   It was born sickly and small.   His mother refused him suck.   It was a great joke when you name...

Chapter 26   “Silence!”   Baran Wardex’s roar reverberated off the stone walls of the clan house effectively eliminating the current infighting.   A large meal sat before the Wardex long forgotten in light of the argument.   Cade stood behind his father’s chair, a sharp frown marring his handsome features.   It was unlike his disciplined and stoic kinsmen to give way to such displays of temper.   In the three days since thei...

“Dat skitto is getting my honey,”   so said my three year old tonight while a mosquito bit him no less than four times while he sat and watched.   He won’t kill any small flying insect because in his mind they all bite or sting.   Better to run screaming, “A Fwy!   A Fwy!”   He is so funny, and sees the world in such a unique way.   When angry with his brother I hear, “You a peanut head!”   I took the boys to Coney Island last week. &...

My ten year old son is playing Knights on line World (KOL) right now for free. I sit with him and watch him play a lot.  (He is a mage...pfft, he gets killed alot as he can only take ONE hit..hehe....) His real life friends play too and so far they are having a good time in the same clan. EXCEPT (isn't there always one of these? heh.), the servers are busy a lot and getting on can be a real pain in the butt. The site offers a "premium" service, which of course you pay for. I was...

Today I was approached by the father of my son’s friend.   I will call him D.   D asked me if I’d be interested in keeping his son for about 7-9 days in September.   He is selling a house in Florida , and his wife will be out of town as well doing something else.   He doesn’t want to pull his son out of school for a week.  (The second week of school.)   This is the same kid I wrote about before and you really have to understand our h...
