Suspicious results and strange behavior: Results labeled 'This site may harm your computer'

We want our users to feel safe when they search the web, and we're continuously working to identify dangerous sites and increase protection for our users. This warning message appears with search results we've identified as sites that may install malicious software on your computer:

Malware warning

If you click the title of the result, you'll be shown the following warning rather than being taken immediately to the webpage in question:

So I'm wondering if Stardock knows Google has identified the JoeUser forums as harmful?  Is it just JU or all Stardocks sites?  Might this affect traffic?

Just checkin......

I get an Avast warning from time to time when enterring the JU forums. Malicious url(livertip) I just ignore it, as I can navigate the forums with no trouble. It is my belief that if any Stardock site was indeed "dangerous" the SD web team would be all over it. Google needs to get its act together.

And they(Google) want people to trust them enough to use an OS built by them? I don't think so!

Yeah.... Google scans the internet and when it finds a site that it believes to be delivering virus or malware it blocks it as "malicious" IE users generally aren't affected. The Joeuser forum page is off limits to Firefox and Chrome and will present the user with a warning page. Its probably just a flash ad that Google is flagging,  Unless the majority of their users are IE the traffic here will nosedive into oblivion

Wait a minute, are you folks talking about the site or the people there?

Yes.

Has to do with the way Google "sees" the code on the page. Also, Norton sees WC cookies as trackers of low danger.

Bara says they'll do something about it with Google.

BTW, Tova7... I do hope you're doing better, and feeling stronger...you've been in my thoughts.

Awesome.  I wasn't sure if they were aware.

Right you are there, mate. A little 'chop' for you! Happy Sunday!

Hehe, Doc, that's a good 'un........ good, but sadly true, so sadly true.

People might think Google has taken over the internet, but it goes much, much further than that.   Most believed it was just an April Fools joke when Google posted that thing about free internet connections by placing the provided cable down one's toilet, but that's what they wanted everyone to think, while they covertly plotted away in sewers underneath cities all over the world.  You see, they didn't just want satellites to spy on us from above, they also wanted to spy on us from below.

So yeah, heed the warning, and check things out thoroughly before you sit on the toot.... they might be watching.

Oh and don't think the S-bend will stop 'em... they've got sophisticated technology to get around that.

Yes. Also wings. Now we're really screwed.

I have seen the same thing, Firefox not wanting to load the page. Easy enough to fix in your browser but I think Brad needs to have a chat with Google and fix the nonsense.

That's for sure.... disengaging the 'Block Reported Attack Sites' could leave one vulnerable if one forgot to turn it back on prior to going elsewhere.

We are still working to try and fix it with Google, but contacting them is like contacting someone on Mars.

My suggestion....

Use Bing.
