Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response

There are days I am so stressed out, tense and unable to sleep there is only one thing that can actually break through the constant barrage of thoughts and worries.

ASMR, or Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response Videos on Youtube.  It is defined as "usually experienced through a relaxing tingling in the scalp and the back of the neck and can extend into the rest of the body."

Essentially it is audio stimulation of a sort.  Wearing a good set of ear buds you listen to the sounds of hair brushing, massage, playing in sand, soft talking, etc..(each Youtuber does their own thing).   I don't get tingles, but the cadence and the sounds are so relaxing that I have one playing right now in the background.

There are a lot of "ASMRers" on Youtube, and I have my favorites.  My absolute favorite is "Whispers Red."

It looks rather odd.  But some of the ASMRers are super creative.  One of my other favorites does sci-fi role play type stuff....

Next time you can't sleep, or need to destress.  Try it.  You're not a freak if you like it...  Why?  SCIENCE!  (Well maybe not "science" more like RESEARCH!)

What I'm listening to right now...
