not exactly in that order

Sunday was Gavin’s 5th Birthday.  He wanted to have a party at Chuckee Cheese, so Chuckee Cheese it was.

Five of his friends joined him for pizza, brownies, soda, games, and playing.  There was a plethora of screaming little voices in different pitches and tones, my twelve year old left with a headache.  (Though I think it was more from all the ‘rolling of the eyes’ he did than the actual noise.)

It was the longest hour and a half of my life.  Haha.

I hate Chuckee Cheese on the weekend.

Our hostess was nice.  At the end when I paid the bill, she brought me back a receipt to sign.  There wasn’t a “tip” option on the receipt.  I said, “Don’t you guys get tipped?”

She said, “Well, we take cash, but that’s it.”

Uh-huh.  Who doesn’t?  Take cash I mean?

I was a little surprised when all the parents dropped the kids off and left.  It’s not that I minded, it just seemed weird to me since we always struggle with “when to leave our kids with others.”  If Gavin was invited to Chuckee Cheese tomorrow, myself or my husband would stay with him.  I think we are probably over protective.

Yesterday I went to see the movie “Jump.”  I can’t give spoilers because the movie didn’t really have a plot.  Ok, it had a small one.  But the characters were underdeveloped so I didn’t care what happened to them.

It was like watching the Great Race with special effects, except I didn’t care who won, who died, who played.  Actually, I think the main point of the movie was the special effects.

Obama, Hillary, and even McCain are making appearances in Ohio.  McCain is going to be out at the local dairy on Weds.  I may take the kids and go see him.  Even if he’s not great, the trip won’t be wasted because there are tons of fun things for the kids to do there.  And the ice cream…..YUM!

Wednesday night there is a lunar eclipse.  It is should start here around 8:43 pm and we are “supposed” to have clear skies.  Hope so.  I love watching all things astronomical.  Next one won’t be until around 2010.

Kids are so creative.  My son Gavin, the birthday boy, told me just now he was going to create a candy computer when he grows up.  “You just click the mouse and it takes you inside the computer to Candy land, and you can pick whatever candy you want, and you ride round on jaw breakers.  Just mind me when I get big mom so I can build it.”

Hahahahaa

Our house barely has enough room for his personality.  Sometimes the walls shudder with the effort it takes to contain it.  I expect before he’s ten, the roof will blow off.

At Chuckee Cheese, among the screaming hordes, my twelve year old looked at me and in a mature and condescending pose said, “This is the perfect place for Gavin.  It’s all chaos all the time.  But mom, it gives me a headache.”

Buwhahahawhaha.

He is turning into an old fuddy duddy just like his grandpa.  The poor kid is in for some uncomfortable moments with me as his mom though.  Lots of public displays of affection, hollering, all the wonderful things pre-teens don’t want from their parental units.

Spring!  Spring?  Spriiiiiiiing…..hellllllo…I miss you!  Please come home.

Sick of winter weather.  Sick of it.

Speaking of sick.  I heard on the news yesterday the flu is sweeping across the country.  The flu shot given this year is only good on 40% of the known strains.  Hope we don’t get it here.  I do hate cleaning up sour smelling chunky puke, which seems to be the modus operandi for every bug my kids get.

I’d rather spend an hour and a half at Chuckee Cheese.

I haven't been to Chuck E Cheese's in a while but everytime we go I wonder how the employees can stand it.  My house is loud with lots of kids but nothing compared to Chuck E Cheese loud.

My boys went to see Jump this weekend and they liked it.  I tried to talk them into seeing Spiderwick Chronicles but they seem to think that they are too mature for that.  Kind of like your 12 year old at Chuck E Cheese.

Gavin sounds like a fun kid.  I had to laugh at his computer idea.

He's fun.  He's a little guy, probably always will be.  He was two months early, and I have two uterus-es and he grew in the small one....anyway, his personality is so LARGE.  He's such a character and well a wild child.

Yeah, I can see how kids like it.  I was disappointed though.  Gavin wants to see Spiderwick but I think it might be too scary in parts.  What do you think?

Takes noise to a whole new level doesn't it? haha
